Residential Window Tint
in Vernon, BC
Reflective film for homes and commercial buildings that cuts heat, lowers utility bills, kills glare and adds daytime privacy.
What is residential film?
Keeping heat out and holding warmth in.
Residential window film is applied to the inside of your existing glass. The difference from automotive film is how it handles heat: automotive film absorbs it, while residential film reflects it back like a mirror.
That reflection works in both directions. In summer it keeps solar heat outside, and in winter it holds interior warmth in. Depending on the building and the windows, that can reduce heating and cooling costs by 20 to 40 percent annually.
It also stops the glare that makes a west-facing room unusable at five o’clock, and blocks the UV that fades hardwood, artwork and furniture.

FAQ
Residential window film, answered.
The questions we get asked most about home and commercial film.
Will window film really lower my utility bills?
On the right windows, yes. Reflective residential film can reduce annual heating and cooling costs by roughly 20 to 40 percent, depending on the building, the window orientation and how much glass you have. South and west-facing glass gives the biggest return.
Will it make my rooms dark?
Not necessarily. There are films that reject a large amount of heat while barely changing how much light comes through. If you have a lake or valley view, that’s usually what we’d recommend.
Can film go on any window?
Most windows, but not all. Some double-glazed and specialty units need a specific film to avoid thermal stress on the glass. We check the window type before quoting.
Does it give privacy at night?
Reflective film works by reflecting the brighter side. During the day that’s outside, so you get privacy. At night, with lights on inside, the effect reverses. If night privacy matters, we’d look at a frosted or decorative film instead.
How much does residential window tinting cost?
It’s priced by the area of glass and the film you choose. A few problem windows is a small job; a whole house of west-facing glass is a larger one. Quotes are free.
