Paint Protection Film
in Vernon, BC
Invisible urethane film that takes the rock chips, bug acid and road grime so your paint doesn't. Installed by hand at our Vernon shop.
What is PPF?
A clear shield over your factory paint.
Paint protection film is a transparent urethane layer applied over your vehicle's painted surfaces. It absorbs impacts from rock chips, road debris, bug acid and tree sap before they reach the paint underneath. The film we install is self-healing, so light swirls and scuffs close up with heat from the sun or warm water.
Installed properly, it's essentially invisible. Edges are wrapped or tucked so there's no visible line across a panel, and the finish underneath keeps its original gloss and colour.
For anyone driving Highway 97 or over the Coquihalla regularly, PPF is the difference between a hood that still looks new at year five and one that's peppered with chips.
Why people get PPF
What the film actually does.
Paint protection film is a physical barrier, not a spray or polish. These are the six things that barrier does.
Rock chip protection
The film takes the hit from gravel and road debris instead of your paint.
Self-healing finish
Light swirls and wash marks disappear with heat from the sun or warm water.
UV fade resistance
Okanagan sun oxidises unprotected paint. The film blocks that exposure.
Bug & sap defence
Acidic bug splatter and tree sap sit on the film, not on your clear coat.
Holds resale value
Original paint in good condition is worth real money when you sell or trade.
Invisible
Edges wrapped and tucked, so there's no line across the hood or fender.

FAQ
Paint protection film, answered.
The questions we get asked most about PPF.
How long does paint protection film last?
Professionally installed PPF typically lasts five to ten years, depending on the product and how the vehicle is stored and washed. Manufacturer warranties vary by film, so we'll tell you the exact term for the product we're quoting.
Does PPF damage paint when it's removed?
No. Quality film removed correctly by a trained installer leaves the factory paint intact. Problems happen with cheap film, poor prep, or a DIY removal that pulls at the clear coat.
What's the difference between PPF and ceramic coating?
They do different jobs. Paint protection film is a physical barrier that stops rock chips and scratches. Ceramic coating is a liquid nano-coating that adds gloss and chemical resistance, but it won't stop a rock. Plenty of customers use both, with film on the high-impact panels and coating over the whole vehicle.
Can PPF be applied over a vinyl wrap?
Not usually. PPF bonds to paint rather than vinyl. If you want both, the film goes on first and the wrap over top, or they go on different panels. We'll plan the order when we quote it.
How much does paint protection film cost in Vernon?
Cost depends on coverage and vehicle size. A partial front on a sedan is a fraction of a full-vehicle install on a three-quarter-ton truck. Quotes are free, so call with your make, model and how much coverage you're considering.
